The third OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting in 2001 will focus on human rights defenders and advocacy.

The OSCE Field Office in Kurghonteppa invites regional representatives of political parties and trade union to a round table devoted to the problems of unemployment in Tajikistan.

The evening event serves as an opportunity for communities to gain information on the election process and human rights issues in a festive atmosphere of sketches, music and games. All are welcome to attend.

The conference on migration will be preceded by a meeting of the PA Standing Committee. Participants will include up to five Members of Parliament from each OSCE participating State, official observers, guest speakers and experts.

A seminar on 'Preventive Functions of the OSCE: Experience, Possibilities, Tasks' will be held in Kiev, Ukraine, on 8 and 9 October 2001.

Representatives of local authorities will take part in a one-day training seminar on how to use and distribute information, co-operation with political parties and NGOs, and the principles of information governance in democratic society.

Co-operation among international, sub-regional and non-governmental organizations, as well as with academic institutions, was the theme of the two-day Seminar on Preventive Functions of the OSCE: Experience, Possibilities, Tasks.
