The second Stability Pact regional conference for South-East Europe will take place in Bucharest from 25 to 26 October 2001.

The workshop is being organized by the OSCE Mission to Tajikistan with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation. Participants will include representatives of political parties and civil society in Dushanbe.

The OSCE Mission to Tajikistan, in co-operation with the Russian Human Rights Film Festival "Stalker", will organize a cinema week on human rights, Dushanbe, 23 to 27 October.

OSCE Mission in Kosovo's weekly briefing for local and international press. The briefing is held from 12:00 to 12:30.

Representatives of the OSCE delegations in Vienna will visit Croatia from 22 to 24 October 2001.

The OSCE Mission to Tajikistan is organizing, in co-operation with a local human rights NGO "Bureau of Human Rights and Rule of Law", a seminar on "The role of human rights NGOs in protection of human rights", Dushanbe, 20-23 October 2001.

The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Romanian Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana, will travel to Uzbekistan on 22 October 2001.

The third OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting in 2001 will focus on human rights defenders and advocacy.

The OSCE Field Office in Kurghonteppa invites regional representatives of political parties and trade union to a round table devoted to the problems of unemployment in Tajikistan.

The evening event serves as an opportunity for communities to gain information on the election process and human rights issues in a festive atmosphere of sketches, music and games. All are welcome to attend.

The OSCE Mission to Tajikistan together with the UNDP and Dushanbe City Department of Education will organize an International Day of Poverty Eradication 2001 for around 300 school children from poor families.

The seminar will focus on the indictment, the judgment, the impeachment, the appeal against a judgment, and the limits on the principle of finding the truth. Press and OSCE staff members are welcome to attend.

The conference will focus on responses to trafficking in human beings in countries of destination.

The round table will gather representatives of government structures, NGOs, and international organizations to discuss and analyse the legal framework on internal displacement within the region and internationally.

Representatives of the OSCE delegations in Vienna will visit Georgia from 12 to 16 October 2001.
